And furthermore; if they were done, were they done to the required standard? (Not that one would chastise a 'young person' for doing a substandard job having at last offered to do such a task...can't look a gift-horse in the mouth (whatever a gift-horse is... ) you know that phrase seems really strange all of a sudden... have I got it wrong?...Maybe I should have used 'beggers can't be choosers' or 'count your blessings' or some other old chestnut)) Ok, she offered, but did she DO the dishes?
